Reflecting today on all I’ve learned this past year. And wow, it was a ton of stuff!
Big believer that we should never stop learning, regardless of how old we are. We should never stop questioning what we already know. To look at things differently. To expose ourselves to new people and new ways of thinking. And to continually invest in ourselves, whether it’s for professional or personal development. We are worth it.
- One of the biggest things I focused on this year was how to build a business online. And clearly this is a work in progress as I barely scratched the surface! Writing marketing copy, creating online programs, blogging, building an email list, launching products, selling stuff online, and Facebook Lives (the worst). Complete one woman show over here! Learning to put myself out there even if only a few people were listening. It was not easy at all. And definitely stressful. 2018 will be more of all of this, and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
- My body (and mind) need downtime. Which translates to saying “No” more often. #justsayno And really focusing on what I want and the things that are important to me. This too is a work in progress and something that I’ve gotten much better at this past year. Busting my ass online, working with clients in person, plus being a mom is no joke. And because I know I’m not alone here, other women (and by other women I mean ALL women) need to work on this too. Total broken record here, but we have to start being more tuned in to our bodies and honoring those energy fluctuations. Non-negotiable.
- Women are still confused as to what/how/when they should be eating and how to best utilize their time in the gym. There is a ton of noise out there. And expert advice and opinionated friends. No wonder they are confused. Another work in progress…One that I’m here to help with. Stay tuned.
- On a more personal level, that I’m way more of a homebody that I realized. I want to be spontaneous, adventurous, and travel more. But really every time I traveled this year, I just wanted to be home snuggling my kids and dogs. Lame, but I’ll embrace it. Oh, and the no hair washing thing…I’ve tried, but honestly 1, maybe 2 days is max for me.
What about you? What did you learn this past year?
I hope 2018 is full of new adventures (unless you're a homebody, then I hope it finds you at home a lot!), new people, and new ways of thinking.
Before you start another obligatory New Years diet, consider this: what if instead of completely overhauling your life with an expensive and super restrictive diet, you started with some small implementable steps in reducing your sugar intake? Anyone up for a #sugarshake?
The FREE 10 Day Sugar Shake is NOT a cleanse or detox! It's my exact system that I use for reducing sugar from my diet in small, manageable steps. We start January 8th. Sign up here.
